The Henry County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies initially responded to a theft complaint in the 100 block of S. East St. in McClure around 4:45 p.m. Saturday, where 36 year old Benjamin Hill of Montpelier, was charged in the matter. Deputies later responded to a reported assault on North Vine Street in Deshler where Hill was also charged in connection to that incident. Shortly before 8:30 that evening, Napoleon police were dispatched to assist the Henry County Sheriff’s Office on a call to Henry County Hospital.Napoleon Police Chief Robert Weitzel stated deputies were at the hospital with Hill, and his department was called to assist when Hill became combative. Weitzel said a struggle took place in one of the emergency rooms, where Hill tried to disarm one of the department’s officers. Hill is facing multiple charges including aggravated robbery.
