Toledo man charged in murder of his son’s mother

Police say 27 year old James C. Ramey of Toledo shot and killed the mother of his 10-month-old son and abducted the boy in Delta before being caught in Indiana. Delta Police Chief Nathan Hartsock said his officers responded with Delta EMS to a residence in the 900 block of Fernwood Avenue at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday for a reported gunshot victim. They found the front door had been forced open. 23 year old Amanda Mangas was inside with a gunshot wound to the chest. She later died at the scene. They also found that Mangas’ 10-month-old son, Winston Ramey, and her stepmother, Deborah Mangas, were missing. Ramey was arrested during a traffic stop by Fulton County, Indiana, Sheriff’s deputies in Rochester.
