Pretrial hearing set in murder case in Paulding County

Another pretrial hearing has been set in the case of an Indiana man accused of murder in Paulding County. 34 year old Daniel Zerbe of Fort Wayne, had a pretrial hearing Wednesday in Paulding County Common Pleas Court. The hearing did not take place in open court, and another hearing was set for 3 p.m. April 17. Zerbe is facing a murder charge with a firearm specification. Zerbe is accused of killing Wilma Schwartz of Fort Wayne on or about March 14, 2016. The body of Schwartz was discovered on Road 1 near Antwerp on that date. Authorities believe Schwartz was shot inside her vehicle, which was later found in Huntington County, Ind. Authorities have stated that Zerbe and Schwartz were believed to have been in a relationship. An autopsy report from the Lucas County Corner’s Office stated she was killed by a single gunshot to the head.
