Kathryn Marie “Kathy” Spicer, 60

Kathryn Marie “Kathy” Spicer, 60 years, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Heartland of Waterville, Waterville, Ohio. Kathryn was born September 3, 1956 in Garrett, Indiana the daughter of the late Maurice J. and Florence M. (DeLong) Beattie. She married Dana Spicer on September 4, 1993 and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2003. Kathryn formerly worked as an assembler at EnerSys Inc. in Richmond, Kentucky. She enjoyed working word search puzzles in her spare time. What she loved was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her two children, Dwight Shaffer of Bryan and Crystal Vasquez of Edgerton; five grandchildren, Haden Shaffer, Shina Shaffer, Alexis Rose, Kaleb Rose and Colten Rose; one great-grandson, Ayden Milliman; eight siblings, Gary (Kim) Beattie of Hillsdale, Michigan, Martin Beattie of Bushnell, Florida, Russ Beattie of Montpelier, Lloyd (Tina) Beattie of Bryan, Cynthia Dohner of Bryan, Cherie (John) Maag of Montpelier and Candy Horn of Orlando, Florida; stepmother, Sharon Gambler Beattie of Bryan. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gregory and Brian Beattie and one sister, Robin Beattie and one great-granddaughter, Adeline Shonk.

Visitation for Kathy Spicer will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Lynn Street Chapel, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, with Pastor Roger Blough officiating. Interment will take place on Thursday in Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, Kentucky.
