Marjorie “Marge” R. Briner, 87, of Montpelier passed away Saturday at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on December 22, 1929 in Wyandotte, Michigan to George S. and Martha E. (Virnick) Oehring. Marge graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1949. She married David M. Briner and he preceded her in death in March 2004.
Marge was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier. She retired from Beam-Stream in Montpelier as a Cathode Operator after 27 years. Marge was a dedicated Bridgewater Township Dairy Farmer’s wife and mother.
She is survived by three sons, Douglas M. Briner, Daniel M. Briner, and Robert (Kelley) Briner all of Montpelier; two daughters, Lynn (William) Patrick and Marcia (A.J) Foote both of Montpelier; eight grandchildren, Paul Briner, Kory Briner, Jamie Hand, Travis Briner, Kayla Briner, Erin Gilcher, Mason Foote, and Katelynn Foote; and twelve great grandchildren.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, step father Wilber Putt and her husband David.
Visitation for Marge will be on Tuesday, April 4th from 4-7pm at the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home on Empire Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Wednesday at 11am at the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier with Pastor Frank Kampel to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
