48 year employee of Spangler Candy Company retires

There is hardly a person in Bryan who isn’t familiar with the Spangler Candy Company. Their products include lollipops, candy canes, and marshmallow circus peanuts. Spangler brand names include Dum Dums that were invented in 1924. Al Braun has made 50+ billion Dum Dums in over 48 years at the Spangler Candy Company in Bryan. Braun, who started with the company in 1969, retired from the factory last Friday. Spangler would like fans of the popular candy company to extend a special thanks to Braun for his 48 years of service to the company through social media.
