Sam Farmer is a whole lot tougher than anybody ever thought. The 38-year-old Edgerton resident has survived cancer and now a hit-and-run accident. Farmer was struck by a southbound maroon or burgundy pickup truck Friday morning while trimming weeds along the west side of Ohio 576 north of County Road C. The driver fled the scene. They didn’t stop to see if Farmer was alright, didn’t report the accident and didn’t call 911 for an ambulance. But Farmer, who works for Farrell’s Lawn and Garden Center in Bryan, said Tuesday he’s on the mend and persevering. If anyone has additional information as to whom may have struck Mr. Farmer, they are urged to contact the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
