Additional charges could be filed in shoplifting arrest

An Indiana woman that led Defiance police officers on a brief pursuit Monday afternoon following a report of a shoplifting complaint at Walmart could be facing additional charges. 26 year old Elizabeth Romeiser of Indianapolis, initially was charged with theft and failure to comply with a police officer. She was taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, rural Stryker, pending an appearance in Defiance Municipal Court. It was learned early Tuesday evening that the vehicle she was driving was reported stolen from the Indianapolis area. The pursuit was initiated at 4:34 p.m. Monday and covered a short distance due to the fact that the vehicle ran out of gas on Ohio 66.
