Child abuse investigation in Montpelier

Police are seeking information about a child abuse investigation in Montpelier that started with a 911 call. Officers responded to a domestic dispute complaint Tuesday evening on the 200 block of Broad Street. On arrival, officers found that a 17-month-old female had been the victim of abuse, according to Montpelier Police Chief Dan McGee. There was a witness who reportedly observed the male strike the child. During the investigation, additional signs of abuse were found. 47 year old Alan Laney was arrested and charged with felony child endangerment then taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
