Paulding’s Chamber of Commerce executive director resigns after more than a month in office. Shannon Ruschel’s resignation was effective Wednesday. She had been hired in June to replace Peggy Emerson, who moved to Ansonia. Ruschel did not cite any particular reasons for her resignation. The chamber board had recently written a letter to the editor in a local paper, apologizing for an incident that occurred during John Paulding Days, which the chamber organizes. The letter stated that during the Parade on July 14, Ruschel refused to announce the Democratic Central Committee float as part of her emcee duties. The chamber will be placing ads for a new director.
