A lawsuit filed by a former Northeastern Local Schools secretary, requesting additional participation in the state’s workers’ compensation program for a workplace injury more than a decade ago, has been dismissed. Defendants in the suit were Northeastern Local and the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. According to the suit, filed in Defiance County last year by a Toledo law firm, Cristina Kammeyer was injured on Dec. 17, 2003, when she tripped on wiring at Noble Elementary School and sustained a concussion, as well as scalp and hand injuries. Kammeyer was allowed to get workers’ comp following the injury, but an additional claim for was turned down, as was an appeal to the Industrial Commission of Ohio. The lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff.
