Francis P. Grim, 65

Francis P. Grim, 65 years, of Sherwood, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, with his family at his bedside. Francis was born December 6, 1951 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Lorraine (Murphy) Grim. He was a 1969 graduate of Uniontown High School. He married Rita E. Bok on July 1, 1971, and she survives. Francis was a Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic for General Tire where he faithfully worked for 37 years. Francis was a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233 where he served as a Past President, as well as the Hicksville Eagles Aerie 2556. He served as a State Officer for the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Francis had a deep sense of compassion and worked tirelessly to raise funds for the Northwest Zone F.O.E. for the Alzheimer’s Association. He was also a member of the Bryan Moose Lodge 1064. Francis loved to go skeet shooting, and drive his prized possession, his 1955 Plymouth. What he truly valued was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Rita of Sherwood; two children, Heather (Larry) Wheeler of West Unity and Heath (Sarah) Grim of Wauseon; three grandchildren, Maggie Wheeler, Jacob and Andrew Grim; one brother, JD (Karen) Grim also of Defiance; one sister, Martha (Paul) Punches of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece, Lara Punches.

Visitation for Francis P. Grim will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood, where Memorial Services will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio, 2500 North Reynolds Road, Suite 2, Toledo, Ohio 43615.
