Myrtle Arlene Siewert, 89

Myrtle Arlene Siewert, 89, of Moberly, MO, passed away on August 7, 2017 at her home. She was born on September 11, 1927 in Secord Township, MI to Otto A. and Edith V. (Taylor) Brueggeman. Myrtle graduated from Adelphian Academy in Holly, MI in 1947. She attended Emmanuel Missionary College, which later became Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. On July 30, 1949, she married Pastor Donald D. Siewert and he survives.

Myrtle was a teacher and a minister’s wife. She conducted cooking classes, vacation bible schools, junior baptismal classes and also worked for fifteen years in public and parochial schools in various Michigan school districts. Myrtle was a member of the Moberly Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Moberly, MO. She was known by many as “Aunt Myrtle”

Myrtle is survived by her husband of 68 years, Pastor Donald D. Siewert of Moberly, MO; one son, Richard (Annie) Siewert of Belleville, IL; one daughter, Susan D. Marke of Berrien Springs, MI; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Milford R. Brueggeman of Beaverton, MI and Eldon H. Brueggeman of Mancelona, MI; two sisters, Marjorie J. Bickhard of Highland Ranch, CO and Barbara (Robert) Ritchie of Sacramento, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, John Paul Siewert, brother, Walter Brueggeman and four sisters, Dorothy Searfoss, Ruth Searfoss, Delpha Towne and Laura Stilson.

Services for Myrtle will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Homes in Montpelier. Donations may be made to Prattville 7th Day Adventist Church.
