A couple from Bryan is indicted on more than a dozen charges, in connection to the abuse of a 17-month-old girl. Prosecutors presented the case to a Williams County grand jury. It returned superseding indictments against the child’s mother and her boyfriend. Alan Laney, 48, of Montpelier faces assault and endangerment charges. Alisha Underwood, 25, of Hicksville is also charged with endangerment. Prosecutors say the abuse happened in June. Laney is accused of committing the abuse over a two-day period, while Underwood failed to protect the child. The case was investigated by Montpelier Police.
