Auburn Police respond to a domestic on South McClellan Street. Angela Williams told officers she had been battered by Dale Craig, age 28 of Auburn. Williams told authorities that he had then taken her 2-year-old son. Williams told police Craig had no paternal rights to the child and she felt the child was in danger. Officers located the suspect and the child in DeKalb County. The child was healthy and unharmed, but Craig was found to have lacerations to his arm. Craig said the cuts were caused when Williams assaulted him with a knife. Craig also claimed that he took the child and left because he feared for his and the child’s safety. Investigators appear to believe Craig’s story. So far, no charges have been filed.
