Robert (Bob) Moore died on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the age of 79 at Hospice of Cincinnati.
His wife, Judith A. (Thomas) Moore, preceded him in death in 1999. They were married 37 years. His brother, Richard F. Moore, also preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, James T. Moore, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; a daughter, Lori A. (Moore) and her husband, James K. Purtell, of Loveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah (Moore) and her husband, Christopher Andrukonis, Daniel Moore, Margaret Purtell, and Timothy Purtell; a great-grandchild, Finley Andrukonis; a sister, Beverly A. Scroggs, of East Dennis, Massachusetts; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis A. (Stone) Moore, of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.
Born in Marlboro, Massachusetts, son of Ralph and Hulda (Skog) Moore, Mr. Moore lived in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, as a child and attended elementary school in Shrewsbury before moving to Newark, Ohio. He graduated from high school in Adrian, Michigan. Mr. Moore returned to Shrewsbury in 1966, where he lived for twenty years before moving to Westboro for ten years, and then retiring to East Dennis on Cape Cod in Massachusetts in 1997.
He received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Tri-State (Trine) University in Angola, Indiana, and went on to earn a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Mr. Moore joined Jamesbury Corporation in 1966 as a Quality Engineer and held the position of Technical Services Manager for years before retiring. He was previously employed by U.S. Rubber Company, Mishawaka, Indiana, and Wayne Pump Company, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury Massachusetts, where he was a Vice Moderator of the Church Council, Chair of the Christian Education Committee, Chair of the Stewardship Committee, member of the Board of Deacons, and member of the Pastoral Call Committee. After retiring to East Dennis on Cape Cod he attended and volunteered at Northside United Methodist Church in Brewster, Massachusetts, where he was a member of the Missions Committee. He was also a member of the Matthew John Whittall Lodge of Masons in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018, from 11:00-11:45 A.M. in the Edon United Methodist Church, Edon, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:45 A.M. on Monday, January 22, 2018, with Reverend Doug Widdowson officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery, Edon, Ohio.
