An employee, who helped a choking inmate, received a citation at this week’s Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio board meeting. Corrections Officer, Jesse Gibson was named CCNO Employee of the Year for 2017. Gibson saw an inmate who could not speak and was gesturing as if he was choking. Officer Gibson called for medical assistance and then began the Heimlich maneuver. After a few attempts the object was dislodged and the inmate could breathe again.
