A Fulton County resident, involved in a crash in Illinois, dies. Jacob Hite was driving on Route 68, approaching state Route 296 in Champaign County. Witnesses told officers Stephanie Castle of Urbana, southbound on 68, slowed to make a left turn onto 296. Hite rear-ended Castle’s vehicle. He got out of his pickup to check on Castle…that’s when he was hit by another car. Hite was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
