Kenneth R. “Kenny” Masser, 86 years, of Ney passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance with his family by his side. Kenny was born December 10, 1931 in Klingerstown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Frank and Carrie (Clark) Masser. He was a 1949 graduate of Dornsife High School. Following high school, Kenny served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Phyllis J. Keesbury on June 15, 1953 in Dornsife, Pennsylvania. Kenny worked as a forklift operator for General Motors for 32 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Sherwood United Methodist Church and Sherwood VFW Post 5665. Kenny enjoyed woodworking, mowing the yard and spending time around the pond. He especially cherished his time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Phyllis of Ney; three children, Judy Masser of Defiance, Steven (Mary) Masser of Sherwood, and Jeff Masser of Columbus; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Kenny was preceded in death by his son Terry Masser; three brothers, Paul Masser, Ernest Masser, and Guy Masser.
Visitation for Kenneth R. “Kenny” Masser will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sherwood United Methodist Church, 512 North Harrison Street, Sherwood, Ohio with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery, Sherwood. Military Graveside Rites preformed by Sherwood VFW Post 5665.
