Douglas Gerald Evans, 65

On May 4th, 2018 Douglas Gerald Evans, age 65 finally received his complete healing and went home to be with his Abba father. He passed away at his home in Fayette, OH surrounded by his family. Doug was born in Camp Carson, Co and was raised in Erie, PA. He went to Bible College in Clarksville, TN in 1974 and then in 1975 married his wife Cynthia (Bourn) of Evergreen, OH. He retired from TRW in 2015 after 17yrs. Doug was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose biggest passions in life were his Faith, his children and his art. He wanted to ensure that his kids knew a father’s unconditional love without judgment or condemnation.

The love for his God was the driving force in Doug’s life and he wanted everyone he met to know God’s abounding love and amazing grace. His faith is also what inspired him in his arts. He was a great artist who loved to paint nature scenes. Doug also loved music. He loved to play the guitar and was an amazing pianist. Throughout his life he wrote, sang and composed many worship songs.

All those that knew Doug well, knew that he was a notorious goofball. He just loved to give people a hard time and to make people laugh. From making up words like kook-a-la-munga to calling everyone a piece of crap or a bumb to chasing kids and grandkids around with “The claw.”

He was proceeded in life by his father Gerald Evans, his mother Roberta Evans and his sister Pam Evans. Doug was survived by sisters: Ellen Steinberg and Diane Meek, brothers: Bob and Donnie Hedderick, wife Cynthia K Evans, Kids: Jathan (Stephene) Evans, Cristy Cavazos, Carli (Nicholas) Meyer and Kim (Nickolas) Kline; and grandkids Tyler Lange, Rylie Goebel, Logan Cavazos, Amya Cavazos, Kennedy Evans, Scotlynn Evans and Rainier Meyer.
