Work on the Turnpike overhaul in Fulton County now has at least a tentative start date. Officials say it looks like work will not begin until at least the end of 2019. The estimated 200 million dollar toll collection system modernization plan, adopted by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, will include construction of a new toll plaza at Milepost 49 in Swanton Township. It will be equipped with EZ Pass lanes that will replace toll lane gates. Officials say the turnpike should be fully operable by 2022.
