A Toledo man is sentenced 11 to 15 years in prison. James Phillips was accused of robbery and kidnapping in Columbus Grove. Phillips also was ordered to make restitution to the victim. Prosecutors say on Nov. 2, Phillips robbed Putnam County resident, Addie Kiene at gunpoint outside Columbus Grove’s Dollar General store, then made her drive him northbound in her car.
Kiene then convinces Phillips into letting her out of the vehicle. Phillips later turned himself in to the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office. Phillips apologized to the victim and the families involved, including his own, during the proceedings.
