West Unity officials unanimously approve to enter into an agreement with the Regional Income Tax Agency, to collect its local income taxes. The RITA typically collects around 3% of a municipality’s tax collection, and in West Unity’s case, a RITA representative estimated it would cost the village somewhere around 33 thousand dollars per tax collection cycle. In Williams County, the Village of Edgerton entered into an agreement with RITA in 2016.
