One in five Williams County residents was without a job in April, that’s according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The numbers show the effect of COVID-19…and the shutdown of much of the state and the nation’s economy. Ohio’s statewide jobless rate for April 2020 was 16.8%. The nation’s April unemployment rate is 14.7%, a level not seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
