Shirley M. Brown, age 95, of Wauseon was given her angel wings on February 8, 2021 at CHP Hospice in Defiance, Ohio with her son, Richard, by her side.
Shirley was born in Youngstown, Ohio on May 6, 1925 to Albert and Fannie (Wick) Cole. She was the second of nine children. When she was young, the family moved to the Metamora area.
In her teens, she worked jobs in Adrian, Michigan and the Pet Milk Company in Delta, Ohio. It was there she met her husband to be, Donald Brown. They were married on September 26, 1945 and raised four children. After that, Shirley had jobs at Wauseon Manufacturing, Lawson’s and thirteen years as a housekeeper at the Fulton County Health Center until her retirement.
Shirley was preceded in death by husband, Donald; daughter, Linda and son, Harold; five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are daughter, Beverly (George) Walworth; son, Richard Brown; sister, Janice Ridgley of Lees Summit, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Funeral Services will be Private due to ongoing health concerns.
Memorials for Shirley may be given to Emmaus Lutheran Church, Wauseon, Ohio or CHP Hospice in Defiance, Ohio.
