EDMONDS STEPPING DOWN IN DEFIANCE

Rick Edmonds, super­in­ten­dent of the Defi­ance County Board of Devel­op­men­tal Dis­abil­i­ties (DD), will offi­cially be retired on Jan­u­ary 3rd after 36 years in edu­ca­tion.

As super­in­ten­dent of the Defi­ance County Board of DD since 1992, Edmonds has been respon­si­ble for over­see­ing many pro­grams includ­ing Good Samar­i­tan School, adult and res­i­den­tial ser­vices, voca­tional train­ing and Spe­cial Olympics.

Tak­ing over the posi­tion on Jan. 6 will be Gina Schell of Per­rys­burg, who cur­rently serves as direc­tor of Med­ic­aid programs/supports for the Lucas County Board of Devel­op­men­tal Dis­abil­i­ties in Toledo.
