Fatal Crash In PC

A Stryker man dies…and seven others are hurt…in an alcohol-involved crash, late Sunday, in Putnam County. Officials tell reporters…Thomas Sproles, 36, of Stryker, was westbound on U.S. 224 in Blanchard Township…as Bradley Cherry, 51, of Ottawa is heading east on the roadway. Officials say…Sproles was waiting for Cherry to pass…so he could make a left turn. That’s when Jorge Villegas, 34, of Findlay…smashes into the rear of Sproles’ car. Sproles was pronounced dead at the scene. His passengers, Melissa Sproles, 35, and four juveniles were transported by ambulance to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. Villegas and his passenger, Selidonio Perez…were flown to St. Vincent in Toledo. Cherry and two passengers in the Jeep were not injured. Officials tell reporters…alcohol was a factor in the crash. The investigation continues.
