Gary Lynn Grant, Sr., age 61, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, August 20, 2022. He was born October 26, 1960, in Bryan, Ohio to William Earl Grant Sr. and Patricia Joann (Partee) Grant. Gary was a 1978 graduate of Fairview High school. He married Barbara Ann Vogelsong on November 11, 1978, and she survives. Gary was employed by Titan Tire in Bryan, Ohio from 1978 – 2015 when he retired. Gary considered his family one of his greatest blessings in life. Any free time he had was spent taking his best buddy, Logan or grandkids on gator rides, swimming and to get treats to hide from their moms.
In addition to his wife, surviving are his sons, Gary Lynn (Casey) Grant, Jr., Brooks (Jennifer) Grant, Logan Grant; daughters, Ashley (Matt) McCann and Aubrea (Mariah) Baxter. A proud grandfather, Gary also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Brooklynn, Colton, Ethan, Delaney, Stone, Barrett, Cash, Bennett and Lincoln, with number 10 on the way. Gary is also survived by brother William Earl (Deb) Grant Jr., sisters Robin (Bryan) Miller and Pamela Grant. He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Oberlin–Turnbull Funeral Home & Crematory, 230 E. Elm Street, Sherwood is handling arrangements. Private memorial services will be held for the immediate family. A memorial dinner will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Sherwood VFW, 115 Cedar Street, Sherwood, where the family welcomes anyone who would like to pay respects to attend.
