In Edgerton

Painting and maintenance to the Edgerton water tower has been pushed back to the spring. Officials say the change was due to circumstances in getting supplies and labor. D & M Painting Corporation, out of Washington, Pennsylvania, was awarded the bid for painting and rehabilitation of both the village’s water towers. The Edgerton Village Council approved a change order during their regular council meeting last week that pushed the starting and completion dates back and decreased the cost. The substantial completion date will be June 1 with the final completion date of July 1. Cost of the project has also dropped by $9,940, bringing the total cost of the project to $635,000. Separately, council approved an ordinance transferring village property to the Williams County Land Reutilization Corporation.
The Edgerton Village Council officially supported an effort by a local business to get a brownfield remediation grant during a special meeting Tuesday afternoon. Council had previously supported Edgerton Development, Inc.’s application for brownfield remediation through a motion. However, on Tuesday the Ohio Department of Development requested council show their approval through an ordinance. Edgerton Development and the village accepted a piece of property from the former Edgerton Metal Products industrial site.
