Fern Mikesell, 81

Fern R. Mikesell, age 81 of Swanton and formerly of Wauseon passed from this life early Monday January 20, 2014 at Swanton Valley Care and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Mikesell was a lifelong Homemaker and had also worked as a housekeeper at the former Detwiler Manor in Wauseon prior to her retirement.

She was born on February 25, 1932 in Fulton County the daughter of the late J. Martin and E. Lucille (Perry) Stites. On December 23, 1956 she married Donald Mikesell and he preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Mikesell was a member of the North Dover United Methodist Church, rural Wauseon where she had been active with the United Methodist Women and the Ladies Bible Study.

Surviving is one son; Danny of Oklahoma, and three sisters; Grace Colon and Esther Lowe both of Wauseon and Marilyn Bennett of Ocala, Florida. Preceding her in death besides her husband, Don were her parents, two sisters; Evelyn Myers and Doris Witt and infant brother, Curtis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday January 23, 2014 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon with Pastor Don Krieger officiating. Interment will follow in the Ottokee Cemetery.
