Linda L. Snider, 81

Linda L. Snider, 81, of Hicksville, Ohio passed Sunday, November 27, 2022, in her residence. Linda was born June 4, 1941, in Ashley, Indiana, daughter of the late Norman “Gene” and Thelma T. (Westbrook) Leas. She was a 1959 Ashley High School graduate and continued her education obtaining an associates degree from Fort Wayne Commercial College. Linda married Philip A. Snider on March 9, 1963, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and he survives. Linda worked as the Executive Secretary for Youth for Christ for 10 years. She previously worked at General Electric as a secretary and was the founder and operator of The Open Door, Hicksville from 1972 until 1985. Along with her husband, Phil, Linda was a devoted member of Broadway Christian Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she taught Sunday School. Linda also led an after school Bible Club, -The Sunshine Club in Hicksville for many years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, always taking care of her family. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crafting, and baking. Linda was a woman of deep faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Phil Snider of Hicksville, Ohio; four children, Timothy (Jackie) Snider of West Unity, Ohio, Rachel Snider of Grand Rapids Michigan, Elizabeth (Paul) Evans of Ottawa Hills, Ohio, and Matthew (Melinda) Snider of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 19 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra Shuman and Kathy Leas; two brothers, David (Janeanne) Leas and Mark (Treva) Leas. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Boston Snider; sister Carole Wilhelm; brother, Norman Eugene Leas, Jr.

A visitation for Linda will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
