Still No Insight

A resolution passed by the North Central Board of Education offers no further insight into why the board felt it necessary to reprimand Eric Smeltzer, district treasurer and varsity coach. The school board had an executive session last week resulting in the decision. The board voted 4-1 to give Smeltzer a written reprimand and a three-day disciplinary suspension without pay. His contract as varsity baseball coach was also rescinded, officials say. Smeltzer will remain as the varsity golf coach.
