Bryan Police officers have a new piece of equipment.

Several Bryan Police officers have a new piece of equipment thanks to a state grant. The force got a grant from the Ohio Criminal Justice Services to buy 14 officer-worn body cameras and a dedicated server to archive the footage. The officers are being permitted to wear a modified vest for the camera so they won’t add weight to their equipment belts. The storage of footage will be done in compliance with records retention policies. Once the retention time has passed, the footage is deleted from the server. The police department already has had cameras in vehicles. Officials intend to pursue more grant funding for additional body cameras.
