Wilma L. Osborn, 99, of Montpelier passed away early Wednesday morning at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on April 27, 1914 in Superior Township to Elwood and Bertha (Hillard) Anspaugh. Wilma graduated from Edon High School in 1932. She married Willis “Bill” Osborn in June 1937, and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1980.
Wilma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier since April 7, 1966. She sold Avon Products and had worked at Trautmans 5 & 10 in Montpelier. Wilma was also a member of the Hospital Auxillary, a lifetime member of the Williams County Historical Society, a 60 year member of the Montpelier Grange where she served as secretary for 19 years and had received the 7th degree.
She is survived by her son Gary (Beverly) Osborn of Dallas Texas; two grandchildren Ms. Jamie Osborn and Brian Osborn; and two great grandchildren Ms. Emory Osborn and Ms. Ingrid Osborn.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, and one sister Dorothy Fireovoid.
Visitation for Wilma will be on Monday February 10th from 11am-1pm at the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier. Services will be at 1pm at the church with Reverend Jonathan Hanover to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Homes in Montpelier.
