Defiance County K-9 unit retiring at the end of the month.

It’s time to say Happy Retirement to one of the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office three K-9 units retiring at the end of this month.The K-9, Ben, a German Shepherd, has been with the department for nine years. Ben was brought over from Europe and was then picked up from Von der Haus Gill, a top German Shepherd training and breeding facility in Wapakoneta. He was then trained by the Allen County, Ind. Sheriff’s Office and by Moser. Ben was then brought on board at the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office in 2015.
