Margaret L. Sailer, 89

Margaret L. Sailer, 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and former resident of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Park Place Senior Living, Fort Wayne.  Margaret was born March 7, 1935, in Mark Center, Ohio, daughter of the late Jesse and Irma (Bernard) Haver.  Margaret and her former husband Kenny owned and operated Sailer’s Market in Mark Center, and then Hicksville, retiring in 2015.  She had also worked for the Ohio Art Company for 16 years.  Margaret was a member of Mark Center United Methodist Church and the Hicksville Eagles Aerie 2556.  She genuinely enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Margaret also enjoyed crocheting, working on puzzles, baking, flower gardening, shopping, and visiting with friends.

Surviving are her four children, Kenneth “Jake” Sailer, Jr. of Hicksville, Diana (Duane) Hankey of Woodburn, Indiana, Jan (Mike) Walters of Bryan, Ohio, and Stan (Sandi) Sailer of Hicksville; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; former spouse, Kenneth Sailer, Sr.; five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation for Margaret L. Sailer will be held from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.   Funeral Services for Margaret will immediately follow in the funeral home beginning at 1:30 P.M. with Chaplain Denise Schwaberow officiating.  Interment will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery, Farmer Township, Ohio.
