Altha M. Dooley, age 96, of Bryan, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Hillside Country Living where she had been a resident. Altha was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member for over 60 years and sang in the church choir for over 25 years. She worked with her husband at Dooley Electric for over 25 years. She served as vice president of the PTA in Edgerton and was also a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader.
Altha was born September 19, 1928 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Bonnie (Huxford) Sturdevant. She married Kenneth E. Dooley in Rock Island, Illinois on March 28, 1948 and he preceded her in death.
Altha is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Dunbar, of Gresham, Oregon, Karen (Doug) Higley, of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, Connie (Rick) Normandeau, of Louisville, Kentucky, Donna (Rob Bacon) Dooley, of Toledo, Ohio, Susan (Len) Steving, of Greer, South Carolina, Mary (Jack) Melton, of Port Charlotte, Florida, Barb (Dean) Harrington, of Bryan, Bonnie (Mark) Spencer, of West Unity, Ohio and Dee (Carl) Goebel, of Beech Grove, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Joe (Sherry) Dooley; an infant daughter, Marsha Jean Dooley; granddaughter, Cherish Harrington and step great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Gooding.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 509 Center Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Altha will be laid to rest at West Buffalo Cemetery following the funeral. Her arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio
The family requests memorial donations be directed to the Bryan Senior Center or Hillside Country Living Activity Fund.
