Kendra Doan, 48 years, of West Unity, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, after a courageous battle with cancer. Kendra was born September 3, 1965 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of James E. and Joan (Sharp) Connolly. She was a 1984 graduate of Hilltop High School, West Unity. Kendra was a line leader for Swan Creek Candle Company. She had previously worked at Kamco, Robinair and Sauder Manufacturing as well as General Tire. Kendra was heavily involved with the Williams County Relay for Life, and her team, Kendra’s Angels. She formerly attended Clay United Methodist Church. She was also a former member of the Montpelier Eagles Aerie #2246. She enjoyed gardening, spending quality time with her family and her dogs.
Surviving are her three children, Jerrica (Steve) Huffman Prasser of Montpelier, John (Addy Berfield) Huffman of Pioneer and Drew (Tanisha Lloyd) Doan of Montpelier; her three grandchildren who called her Nana, Allyson and Michael Prasser and Brantley Doan; her parents, James (Joan) Connolly of West Unity and her companion, Andrew E. Doan Jr. of Montpelier.
Visitation for Kendra Doan will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity. Funeral services for Kendra will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor Nick Woodall officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, rural Bryan.
