Election filing deadline passes in Ohio, one statewide issue.

Looking ahead to voting season, the election filing deadline that passed last week in Ohio has produced one statewide issue for voters to decide in May. The Ohio Ballot Board approved language this week for a statewide issue that will appear before all Ohio voters on May 6. If approved, this would permit state government to bond $2.5 million during a 10-year period to fund local road and bridge projects. State tax revenues will repay the bonds. This same program (the state capital improvement program) has been in place for 38 years.
