ODM submits proposal to reinstate work requirement for those receiving Medicaid benefits.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Medicaid Director Maureen Corcoran announced Friday that ODM has submitted a proposal to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services seeking approval to reinstate a work requirement for individuals receiving Medicaid expansion benefits. Under the proposal, Medicaid expansion enrollees would be required to meet at least one of the following criteria to maintain benefits: Be at least 55 years old. Be employed. Be enrolled in school or a job training program. Participate in a recovery program. Have a serious physical or mental health illness. Ohio had previously received federal approval for a similar requirement in 2019; however, that approval was later revoked.
