The city of Bryan and a church charged with zoning and fire code violations have agreed to settle a lawsuit filed in federal court between the two. A settlement agreement was reached Thursday between the city and Dad’s Place. The city alleged the church had been allowing people to sleep in the facility overnight, which is a violation of the city and state zoning code for the church’s occupancy permit. The settlement shows the parties mutually agreed to release, with prejudice, all claims related to the city’s previous enforcement of its zoning code against the church.
