The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred in Perrysburg Township, Wood County. The crash occurred on Interstate 75 northbound near milepost 188 at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Volvo commercial tractor/trailer was traveling north on Interstate 75, when the front left steer tire blew, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway, and strike the median cable barrier. The vehicle then came to final rest facing northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75. Approximately 1,500 feet of median cable barrier was damaged, and Interstate 75 was shut
down for a short time, before two lanes were eventually opened for travel. The Volvo was operated by 27 year old Mohamed Alhaj, of Lincoln Park, Michigan.
Alhaj sustained no injuries as a result of the crash.
