Officials are reporting a chemical spill in Avon Lake. Reports say that 66-hundred gallons of a diluted, commercial-grade polyurethane coating were released into Powdermaker Creek. The product’s manufacturer — Lubrizol Corporation — reports the leak was caused by human error. Officials say the product was removed from the water before it reached Lake Erie and the Ohio EPA is monitoring the situation.
