Williams County authorities sought the public’s help Monday in locating a suspect that eluded them during a vehicle pursuit Saturday evening after allegedly striking a deputy. A media release issued Monday noted that the pursuit began by the Williams County Sheriff’s Office following the report of a domestic dispute in Edon after 7 p.m. Saturday. A sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the suspect, Zachary McCague, but he failed to pull over and fled in his vehicle. During the pursuit, McCague allegedly struck a sheriff’s cruiser with his vehicle. Deputies were able to box in McCague’s vehicle and bring it to a stop. However, after ordering McCague out of the vehicle, he used it to strike a deputy and continued fleeing.
