Defiance officials extend hours at municipal compost facility.

Because of the storm damage on Saturday, Defiance city officials have extended hours at the municipal compost facility on State Route 281, which is adjacent to the water pollution control plant. Residents of Defiance can visit the site, which is typically open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The location will be open from noon to six p.m. every day this week until Friday. On Saturday, the facility will be open as usual from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
