The man charged with killing cyclist Timothy Haase on New Year’s Eve in Point Place in Toledo has entered a not guilty plea. The plea was entered by 73-year-old Marcus Deamicis during his arraignment in Lucas County Common Pleas Court on Thursday in response to accusations of driving while intoxicated, aggravated vehicular murder, and failing to stop following an accident. In addition, a judge released him on supervised own recognizance and prohibited him from using weapons, drugs, alcohol, or contacting the victim’s relatives. Deamicis’ pretrial is set for May 21. According to police, Timothy Haase, 44, was riding his bike in the afternoon of Dec. 31, 2025, in a bike lane in Point Place when Deamicis hit him from behind and fled the scene.
