Ohio’s brownfield remediation program to provide Williams County with funding for two projects.

Ohio’s brownfield remediation program will provide Williams County with more than $850,000 for a pair of projects.  The awards are a portion of the $61 million distributed across the state by the Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program.  Williams County was awarded $649,952 for the complete demolition of the Kunkle school building, as well as for asbestos removal and reconstruction planning. In order to support Madison Township’s rural housing expansion, it is anticipated that the Welcome Home Ohio program will provide money for the construction of a new single-family home development on the property.   Additionally, $212,307 was given to the county for corrective action at a former Pioneer car repair facility.
