Karen Roose, 57

Karen L Roose, 57, died Saturday April 6, 2013 at Hickory Creek at Hicksville.

Karen was born July 8, 1955 in Montpelier, Ohio the daughter of the late Robert and Kathryn (Zuver) Roose.

She graduated from Hilltop High School in 1973. Karen began her working career as a cook at DeGroff Restaurant & Bakery in West Unity, Ohio. Later she was employed at Archbold Ladder in Archbold, Ohio. Most recently she was employed at Crook Miller Company in Hicksville, Ohio.

Karen was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hicksville. She was active with the Hicksville Relay for Life, an avid reader and NASCAR fan. She was a collector of many recipes and compiled her favorites into cookbooks that she gave as gifts to her family and friends.

Karen will be missed by her two sisters Kathy (David) Kenner and Bonnie (Mike) Kenner both of Hicksville and her brother Terry (Linda) Roose of West Unity, her nine nieces & nephews and eight great nieces & nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 Wednesday at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Hicksville. Father Dave Cirata will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville with a Wake Service at 8:00.

Burial will be at Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, Ohio.
