Former Councilman Pleads No Contest To Felony Charge

A former Wauseon City Councilman pleaded no contest Tuesday to a felony count of theft in office for stealing county property while he was Fulton County’s inspector of weights and measures.

62 year old Fred Allen allegedly stole unspecified “property or services” owned by the county.

Allen was a member of Wauseon City Council and assistant fire chief for the volunteer fire department there at the time of his indictment back in June. He has since resigned his council seat. Due to the felony charge, he may not run for office again.
