Roller Coaster aficionados are planning their trips to Cedar Point to pay their respects to the Mantis, who has fulfilled his duty as a world-class thrill ride for 18 years. When it was built in 1996, the Mantis was billed as the world’s tallest, fastest and steepest stand-up roller coaster in the world. But it will shut for good next month. It has given more than 22 million rides. Cedar Point says it will be replaced by something even better in the Roller Coaster Capitol of the World. Mantis fans are heading their for a final selfie on the Mantis.
